American Express is running a promotion giving you a $15 prepaid card when you buy two American Express gift cards.  You must make your purchases at a participating location and use a rebate form that you can find in the store.  I found one at CVS and I’m sure there are other stores participating.  There is a limit of one redemption per household and you must make your purchase by 11/02/2008.  Your rebate form must be mailed by 11/24/2008.  There doesn’t appear to be any information about this promo at the American Express gift card site but you can get the full details from the rebate form.

ING has several bonus promotions tied to its Electric Orange checking account.  You most likely can only get one of these bonuses and they may be targeted so you might not qualify for the bonuses.

The $50 bonus is for those don’t yet have an Electric Orange checking account.  You need to apply for an account and use your Electric Orange debit card to make at least 3 signature-based purchases in the first 45 days after opening your account.  The promo code is EM227.

The $10 and $20 bonuses are for those who already have an Electric Orange checking account.  You need to make at least 5 purchases of $10 or more in November and they will credit your account with the bonus in December.  The amount of your bonus depends on which promotion they targeted for you.  You can view the $10 bonus at ingdirect.com/spendwise and the $20 bonus at ingdirect.com/wise.  It has been reported that there was a mixup in linking the correct bonus pages with the promo emails so you may be able to ask for the $20 bonus instead if you receive the $10 bonus.

I have a couple of updates on topics I recently posted about.  FNBO Direct recently lowered their rate from 3.50% APY to 3.25% APY.  This is disappointing but with interest rates falling it wasn’t unexpected.  They still have one of the better paying accounts.

Apply for a Sony Card and you can get a $150 card credit after a $299 or more qualify purchase.  This is a great way to get a PS3 for cheap. From their terms “For one or more purchases that post to your account within 45 days of account opening, on a single sales receipt at a Sony-authorized dealer with a value of $299 or more (Qualifying Purchase), provided your account is not past due on the purchase date:.”  This seems to be a decent deal if you’re already planning on making a $299 or more purchase.  Visit their website for more details on this card bonus.
