PerkStreet Financial New $50 Bonus Plus 2% Cash Back

PerkStreet Financial has a new $50 bonus. They have toughened the requirements to qualify for the $50 bonus. To get the $50 bonus open an account online with at least $250 and make 25 non-PIN debit card purchases within the first three months (90 days). Once you do, we will deposit $50 into your checking account within 20 business days. Offer expires April 30th, 2010 and may be modified or canceled at any time.

To get 2% cash back for six months (180 days), just open an account online with at least $25. The six month period will begin once your account has been opened. You’ll earn cash back on all non-PIN debit card purchases. After the six month period, you’ll earn 1 % Cash Back on all non-PIN debit card purchases which is pretty good for a debit card.

Visit the bank promo page for more info or to apply for this bank bonus.

I’m not sure whether you can get both the $50 bonus and the 2% cashback.Ā  I’ll clarify that as soon as I know.

Considering our banking business in the context of the overall scheme of things, lots of folks are getting disgusted by the excessive power of the mega-banks and the sleazy use they have made of this power. While I do not know anything about the specific institutions you mention in your posts (I live in Los Angeles), there is a movement to “move our money” to local banks and credit unions. Tips on how to do this safely can be found at http://www.rebelcapitalist.com under “Personal Finance” (“Move Your Money”).
