Two KC Area Bank Bonuses

by Andy Hough on August 22, 2009

Saturday is reserved for local bank bonuses. I have two of them this week.

CommunityAmerica Credit Union is offering up to a $100 bonus. From their site:

First $50 bonus (“Splurge”) will be applied if the account has established a recurring direct deposit of $250 or more OR has had 15 or more transactions within the two calendar months of account opening. Account will be evaluated after these conditions have been met and “Splurge” bonus will be deposited within eight weeks, assuming account is open and in good standing. Second $50 bonus (“Stash”) will be applied if the account has remained active with an average of 15 or more transactions per month for the year OR has had a direct deposit of $250 or more each month, and the member has deposited at least $1,000 into their primary share account within 12 months after account opening. “Stash” bonus will be applied within eight weeks of your one-year anniversary date provided these conditions have been met. Any account closed within six months from open date will be subject to a $50 early closure fee. For new checking accounts only, defined as new checking relationship with credit union opened between 8-3-09 and 11-30-09.

The conditions make this one not worth the effort to me but if you were considering opening an account with CommunityAmerica anyway you might as well take advantage of this bank promo. Visit their site for more information on this bank bonus.

Metcalf Bank is also offering up to a $100 bonus. Some details from their site:

Start by opening a new Free checking account and get $50! And, if you open a new SaveUp Savings account at the same time, you’ll get another $50! Minimum to open Free Checking account $50. Minimum to open SaveUp Savings account $250. If account is closed within the first 90 days a fee may be imposed. Promotion ends 8/31/2009.

This one looks like it might be worthwhile. I’m going to open an account and I’ll share my experience.
