May Credit Score

by andy h on May 20, 2007 · 4 comments

My credit score for May is 703 up from 673 last month. I’m not sure why it went up so much. I did reduce my debt slightly but not enough that I would have thought it would make a significant difference in my credit score. It may be that some old inquiries and such have fallen off the report. Anyway it is good that the score is going up. As I continue to pay down my debt the score should continue to rise and I hope to get my score over 735 before the year is over.

How do you check your credit score so often? I can’t find anything cheaper than $12 a month… Do you pay to see it?

My Providian credit card provides me with a free monthly credit score. It is pretty accurate although it is usually about one month behind.

Providian card provides with FICO score and also two reason why the score is that particular number, like age of account, or amount of balance etc, so thats gives a pretty good idea of things over time.

I need to get a card that lets me do that. Can you recommend any that come with this benefit?
